STILL THE TRUE CHURCH?
The daily teachings of the “change agents” in the Church are like worms eating deep into the foundation of many congregations of the Churches of Christ. The Church that should stand as the pillar and ground of Truth is now found compromising the truth she is meant to defend. Falsehood has taken the centre stage and men groan in dispair for a better way out.
Where are we heading to?
Some Churches of Christ have become “Churches-off-Christ”, courtesy of the change agents. Some Churches of Christ are no longer willing to Carry the Cross, they rather want to be Carried Across, courtesy of the change agents. Where are we heading to?
An illusion
The folly of some preachers, other leaders and members rests on the statement: “This is the 21st century, the Jet Age, the Church must ride in the wings of this age if she Must create impact”. As wonderful as this may sound, it is just an illusion and nothing more.
The opposite is the case
The 21st century has not changed the message of the old! God forbid! The same message the Church must uphold today. The Technologies of the 21st century, or of the Jet Age, as it is called, rather provide Christians with better means and tools for spreading the Truth instead of tools for compromise.
The world is meant to evolve but that does not nullify the simplicity of the message of the Bible. In fact, the more humanity develops, the more the need to look for and find God. This is the only way stability can be assured.
Arise!
The Lovers of the Truth must stand up tall in these trying moments to preserve the Church and the Truth of the gospel for the next generation, even for our children.
The Church MUST NOT die in our hands! We must arise and defend the Truth we have received with sound and true reasoning. Remember this: the world must know the Truth because it is the Truth that will set them free.
May God Strengthen Us as We Stand Together for Him.
