Song: Earth Holds No Treasure!

Stanza 1
Earth holds no treasures but perish with using,
However precious the be;
Yet there’s a country to which I am going:
Heaven holds all to me.

Refrain:
Heaven holds all to me,
Brighter its glory will be;
Joy without measure will be my treasure:
Heaven holds all to me.

Stanza 2
Out on the hills of that wonderful country,
Happy, contented and free,
Loved ones are waiting and watching my coming:
Heaven holds all to me.

Refrain:
Heaven holds all to me,
Brighter its glory will be;
Joy without measure will be my treasure:
Heaven holds all to me.

Stanza 3
Why should I long for the world with its sorrows,
When in that home o’er the sea,
Millions are singing the wonderful story?
Heaven holds all to me.

Refrain:
Heaven holds all to me,
Brighter its glory will be;
Joy without measure will be my treasure:
Heaven holds all to me.

The song above captures the whole essence of this message: Earth holds no treasure but perish with using. Everything in it is ephemeral and fleeting. Nothing stays the same, nothing  is permanent, nothing satisfies.

What is that thing that is entangling your life and making you find it difficult to be above the designs and desires of the world, above the cravings of the flesh, above the works of men?

Remember the words of Paul (the Apostle) to the Christians at Rome, “The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the amour of light” (Rom. 13:12, NKJV).

It is time to awake from sleep, the scriptures urge thus “and do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed” (Rom. 13:11, NKJV). Awake! Not only from the physical sleep but also from the spiritual slumber!

Awake my brother, awake my sister. It is time to say goodbye to the works of men and of the flesh to embrace the works of the Spirit, in the Lord with fervor!

It is time to get prepared for the country above because “Earth holds no treasure but perish with using… Heaven holds all to us.”

Are you ready for the true home in Heaven?
