2023 – UGEP, CROSS RIVER STATE
The report on the Christian Leadership Nexus Workshop held at Ugep is here presented.
The Christian Leadership Nexus Workshop, in affiliation with the Church of Christ, Ugep, Cross River State, was held on the 17th Day of November 2023.
The Workshop Theme, taken from Amos 3:3, on the realisation of the need to call leaders’ attention to the need to work together for the growth and expansion of the Kingdom was “Can Two Walk Together Unless They Agree?”
A total of seventy-one (71) persons attended the programme from over 15 congregations. The participants were well-fed to the glory of God.
All the expected resource persons attended and taught impactful lessons. There were also healthy interactions that saw leaders resolving to work together spiritually, socially, economically, and otherwise for the furtherance of the Kingdom. To God be the glory.
The highlights of the Workshop are as follows:
- Man cannot walk/agree with a man if he has not walked/agreed with God
- We must, from now henceforth, begin to make amends where we have erred.
- Leaders must walk together with each other. Members must also support the leaders to walk with each other.
- We must build/make people for proper succession in the Church.
- Hebrews 4:13 must be our guide in walking with each other.
- There is strength in walking together in unity.
- Walking together creates room for mentorship programmes.
- Happiness is guaranteed when we walk together in agreement.
- Walking together means seeing God first, having a strong connection with him and our fellow men
- We must do away with any manner of who/position tussle, return to the drawing board and forge ahead as a people under the word of God.
- Forgiveness and forgiving hearts must be our watchword to walk together in agreement.
- There must be unity of purpose for us to achieve walking together for the growth of the Church.
- Without trust and fearing God (agreement with God) our pleadings (prayers) cannot be answered.
- Pride and greed must be kept aside for us to walk together in agreement.
- The way to be one is to get rid of the other. That’s not God’s purpose. We must be our brothers’ keepers.
- Henceforth, we must forgive one another and begin to agree and walk together for Church growth.
- Loving one’s enemies is part of walking in agreement with God.
- The open sins and the secret sins are all sins. We must let them go.
- We must walk together in love to promote the Church.
- We cannot walk together unless we agree.
Overall, it was a fruitful Workshop. To God alone be the praise of the saints forever and ever, Amen. Obeten Okoi Oka, reporting.
