2023 – UKWUEL, OBUDU, CROSS RIVER STATE
The report on the Christian Leadership Nexus Workshop held at Ukwuel, Obudu is here presented.
The Christian Leadership Nexus Workshop, in affiliation with the Church of Christ, Ukwuel, Obudu, Cross River State, was held on the 18th Day of November 2023.
The Workshop Theme, taken from Amos 3:3, on the realisation of the need to call leaders’ attention to the need to work together for the growth and expansion of the Kingdom was “Can Two Walk Together Unless They Agree?”
A total of forty-eight (48) persons attended the programme from over 8 congregations. The participants were well-fed to the glory of God.
All the expected resource persons attended and taught impactful lessons. There were also healthy interactions that saw leaders resolving to work together spiritually, socially, economically, and otherwise for the furtherance of the Kingdom. To God be the glory.
The highlights of the Workshop are as follows:
- You cannot walk right with a man unless you have walked right with God.
- To be a progressive Christian, you must have an agreement with God by walking with Him.
- Fearing and trusting God are prerequisites for walking right with God.
- We must not be lone rangers in walking. We must cooperate to grow the Kingdom
- For a congregation to progress, there must be love among each other.
- The Word of God must be the only standard of agreement to avoid being pretenders and hypocrites
- The preachers must walk together with the Church to plan and implement programmes to promote agreement and walking together.
- Christians (preachers/members) must shun selfishness to promote the Church.
- We must not only be a Church in the community, we must serve the community to pull them to God.
- We must have unity of purpose and action to succeed as a Church
- We must practice loving fellowship to promote Church growth.
- Humility is a key characteristic of a Christ-like life. It promotes walking in agreement.
- God knows our hearts (Hebrews 4:13). We must be guided by this in all actions.
- Our fear of God MUST reach our pockets to Walk with God and man.
- The pursuit of peace is necessary for walking together in agreement with one another.
Overall, it was a fruitful Workshop. To God alone be the praise of the saints forever and ever, Amen. Obeten Okoi Oka, reporting.
